-
Remove footwear before entering the
training area.
-
Bow Wai upon entering or leaving the
training area. *Note: The bow Wai is not a religious
gesture. Rather, it is the Thai version of a handshake. The bow
Wai is performed by placing the palms of the hands together in
front of your face and bending your head forward slightly.*
-
Bow Wai to the teacher at the
beginning and end of each lesson.
-
Bow Wai to your training partner at
the beginning and end of each activity.
-
Respect the teacher, other students
and staff of FightHouse at all times.
-
Look after the equipment. Do not
kick or throw the equipment unless instructed to do so by the
teacher.
-
Do not use other students’ equipment
without permission.
-
Try not to talk while the teacher is
talking.
-
Always inform the teacher if you
need to leave the training area during class time.
-
Refrain from using offensive
language during class time. The occasional expletive when you
stub your toe is understandable, but please tries to keep the
four letter words to a minimum.
-
Avoid alcohol, tobacco or drugs
prior to lesson time.
-
Always wear appropriate clothing (Muay
Thai shorts and FightHouse Muay Thai tank-top) during lesson
time.
-
Always wear appropriate safety
equipment for the activity.
-
At bow-in and bow-out, the correct
term of greeting is: “Sawat dee Khrap” for gentlemen and “Sawat
dee ka” for ladies.
-
Students should arrive for class no
more than 10 minutes late.
-
Try to focus on proper training
habits. It is better to train slowly with correct technique than
quickly with poor technique. Remember also that you are
responsible for your own actions and the safety of your training
partners.
-
Help your partner out, but try not
to be too critical, or attempt to instruct them too much with
their technique. This can be counter-productive.
-
Do not leave personal belongings
unattended. While theft is rare at FightHouse, the management
and staff cannot be held responsible for lost or stolen items.
-
Always demonstrate good manners and
respect. *Note: Respect is a sign of self-discipline
and humility. If you respect others, respect is often given in
return. Respect for the school and teacher is necessary in
showing that you have the willingness and capacity to learn.
-
Do not complain out loud during
class as it is disruptive to your fellow students.
-
Lastly, remember that you are here
to have fun.
